Head to the Pipe Shop in Lower Lonsdale this Saturday and Sunday for the Fall for Local Spring Market, open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. More than 90 local vendors will be selling their wares, including clothing, jewelry, cosmetics and much more. There’ll also be a number of free do-it-yourself workshops and food trucks on site. Admission: $3 online, $5 at the door.  

If you feel like living wild and getting off the North Shore this weekend, the annual Art Vancouver fair is happening this weekend, with show hours slated from 1 to 9 p.m. today, noon to 9 p.m. tomorrow, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Art Vancouver presents more than 100 galleries and up-and-coming artists from around the world sharing a unique view of the contemporary art scene. One local exhibitor includes West Vancouver’s Bernice Hetherington, who at 92 years old was accepted to showcase her work – only to pass away several months ago before she actually got the opportunity. Her daughters, Shelley and Clare, will be there showcasing Bernice’s artwork in their mother’s honour.

The Developmental Disabilities Association is hosting a donation pop-up during the West Vancouver Community Centre’s Saturday mini-market tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The association will be handing out free popcorn and collecting used clothing and household items, with all proceeds earmarked to support programs and services benefitting individuals and families living with developmental disabilities. Join in the effort to keep the North Shore’s unique ecosystems free of unwanted debris during a shoreline cleanup happening at Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver tomorrow at 1 p.m. Organized by the Ocean Wise and World Wildlife Fund-sponsored Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, participants are encouraged to meet at the park’s overflow parking lot and wear appropriate clothing along with closed-toed, sturdy shoes. Music industry veteran Berry Samuels is kicking off his tenure booking talent for Two Lions Public House’s Sunday shows by presenting Diamond Forever: a Celebration of Neil Diamond featuring acclaimed singer Jason Scott this Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
