Autostrada restaurant expands to third Vancouver location

Here they grow again: Popular Italian restaurant Autostrada has revealed plans for their third Vancouver location. Autostrada will be moving into a brand new restaurant space at the base of the new Vancouver House development in downtown.

Autostrada is the venture of chef Lucais Syme and business partner Dustin Dockendorf, who first had Vancouver taking notice when they launched Cinara on Pender in downtown. In 2018 they created Autostrada on south Main Street — a sibling spot that's a no-reservations, boisterous, laid-back osteria showcasing a slim menu of house-made pastas and antipasta, negronis and wine.

By the end of 2018, however, Syme, Dockendorf and the Cinara/Autostrada team opted to bring Cinara's chapter to a close; a few weeks later the space had transformed into a second outpost of Autostrada.

Now the signage is up at Vancouver House for the third Autostrada location, with a targeted opening of spring 2020.

Autostrada joins the much-anticipated Momofuku as a restaurant tenant at Vancouver House.

A third spot to sit down and eat in the high-profile Westbank development, in what they've dubbed the city's new "Beach District" neighbouhood, is the Fork Lift Kitchen & Bar, which is located within the just-opened Fresh St. Market.

Autostrada is also joining the ranks of Vancouver-based restaurants that are keen on replicating their success at multiple venues across the region.

"We’re excited for the opening of our newest Autostrada outpost at Vancouver House. Our menu will include familiar, well-loved pastas, plus new additions. Expect the same warm, approachable atmosphere, in a beautiful space designed by our friends at Ste. Marie," says the restaurant.

We'll share more details about the third Autostrada as they become available.

Autostrada's two current locations are located at 4811 Main St. and 350 West Pender St. in Vancouver; Vancouver House is located at 1400 Howe St. Follow them on Instagram at @autostradaosteria.
