Icy, slippery conditions and snow have led to the closure of the Grouse Grind trail, Metro Vancouver announced Tuesday.

Staff will continue to monitor conditions in Grouse Mountain Regional Park and provide updates through Metro’s website and social media channels. Snow continued to fall along the upper portion of the Grind on Wednesday, with temperatures dipping below zero.

The BCMC trail currently remains open – however, winter clothing, hiking boots and microspikes (steel spikes on rubber straps that slip over hiking boots) are recommended for the top quarter portion of the route.
