The lifestyles of the rich and the famous will be on show at VanDusen Botanical Garden this weekend. Well, their cars will be.

Some of the world’s most expensive cars — that most Canadians have never laid eyes on in real life — will roll into Vancouver for the annual Luxury and Supercar show.

It's labelled Canada's premier luxury lifestyle and automotive event and it boasts a display of a 187 jaw-dropping supercars.

Worth a combined $250 million, some cars look more like they belong in a Batman movie than in a garage.

It’s a carefully curated selection of the world’s most luxurious and collectible automobiles — from Europe, the US and Canada — including Pagani, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bugatti, Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Maserati, Bentley, Aston Martin, Porsche and many, many more.

Now it its ninth year, the L&SW has expanded to cover 17-acres of the garden, with pop-up bars and food stations throughout.

If you’re a car enthusiast, it’s probably an event you don’t want to miss.

We had a chat with event president Craig Stowe and vice-president Nadia Iadisernia to find out a little more about the cars and entertainment at this year’s show.

What is the most expensive car?

Introducing… the Pagani Huayra BC. It’s worth $4.5 million. It's very exclusive — only 20 exist.

AutoCar reported the Italian super car's BC name refers to Benny Caiola, a property magnate who was the first customer to buy a Pagani car. The limited run of Huayra models was dedicated to him.

For those who speak cars: It has a Mercedes-Benz's AMG division hand-built 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine with 750 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque.

It's been built extremely light at 1,200kg and weighs less than a Mini Cooper. It goes pretty fast too. It's top speed is about 383 km/h.

What are the most interesting cars?

The presidents highlighted the Pagani Huayra BC ($4.5 million), the Bugatti ($4 million), the McLaren 600 LT ($310,000), the Singer Porsche Williams DLS ($2.2 million) and the Rolls Royce Cullinan ($525,000).

“All of these vehicles listed are new hypercars; rare, spectacular and expensive,” the presidents said.

“They’ve also never been seen by the public in Canada before.”

What is the oldest car at the show?

It’s the Porsche.

“This year, we’re celebrating the 70th anniversary of Porsche with a display of the very first Porsche ever made coming from Germany,” the presidents said.
