The good life promises to look better on 4K TV. But with limited content available, it's not a necessary purchase for 2016.

As the Canadian dollar plummets, consumers in this country face dramatically rising prices for tech devices thanks to the loonie’s weakness against the U.S. dollar. If you’re on any kind of budget, you will need to think twice about what to buy this year.

That’s why Tyler Orton of Business in Vancouver joined me this week to discuss tech devices and products you might want to hold off buying in 2016 if you want to save money. A 4K TV? Smart thermostat? A new tablet? VR headset? Wait a while before plunging into those purchases. But not everything is off the table.

Thanks to continued, fierce competition between Sony and Microsoft, this could be a good year to buy an Xbox One or PS4.
