Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joined in the celebration, greeted with cheers from the tens of thousands of people lining the West End streets. It must have been a welcome respite from the anti-pipeline protests which have dogged the rest of his West Coast tour.

As he marched with fellow Liberal MPs, pausing occasionally to take photos with supporters, his message was loud and consistent: "Happy Pride! Happy Pride!"

The Courier's Martha Perkins was on hand to photograph the parade so you can relive, or enjoy, some of the highlights.
