The massive Fortis BC project to upgrade its gas lines through Burnaby to Coquitlam is continuing with more road closures.
Douglas Road is closed to traffic between Carleton Avenue and Madison Avenue.
This means:
The intersection of Halifax Street and Douglas Road will be closed to all east-west and north-south traffic until early November.
Pedestrian and cyclist access is being maintained on Douglas Road, as is vehicle access to businesses south of Halifax Street including the Staples parking lot.
Businesses in the area remain open and accessible.
Construction on this stretch is anticipated to finish mid-November, weather dependent.
