Compass wristbands, available starting next Monday, work the same as Compass Card, according to transit authority.

TransLink customers who missed out on the last batch of Compass Card wristbands are in luck because that another batch of 10,000 Adult Compass Wristbands have now gone on sale.

“Compass Wristbands work the same as Compass Cards — tap in and out when travelling on transit and reload online, at a Compass Vending Machine, by phone or in person,” said a TransLink news release. “Just like a Compass Card, you’ll pay a $6 refundable fee when you pick up your wristband. Remember to tap the part of the wristband that displays the contactless symbol.”

Customers can purchase adult wristbands in person at either of TransLink customer service centres while supplies last.

“We are still awaiting the delivery of Concession wristbands and will release those as soon as we receive them from our supplier,” said a news release.

TransLink tested consumer demand for Compass Wristbands in December with an initial batch of 2,000, which sold out within two hours. We will monitor uptake of this larger batch of wristbands and will order more if demand remains high.

Visit the Compass Customer Service Centre at Stadium–Chinatown Station (Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or the West Coast Express Office in Waterfront Station (Monday - Friday 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.) to pick up an Adult wristband while supplies last.
