TransLink has confirmed that another 16 SeaBus sailings will be cancelled Thursday as a result of the transit strike issued by Unifor, the union representing bus operators and transit maintenance workers.

As part of the job action, the following 16 sailings will be cancelled on Nov. 7 in the morning and the afternoon:

  • The 7:20 a.m., 9 a.m., 4:10 p.m., 6:47 p.m., 7:17 p.m., 7:47 p.m., 8:17 p.m. and 8:47 p.m. sailings from Lonsdale Quay will be cancelled
  • The 7:35 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 4:25 p.m., 7:01 p.m., 7:31 p.m., 8:01 p.m., 8:31 p.m. and 9:01 p.m. sailings from Waterfront will be cancelled.

TransLink has been scaling back sailings on the busy Waterfront to Lonsdale Quay connector since Friday, Nov. 1, when Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) operators and maintenance workers represented by Unifor began job action.

TransLink tweeted that it also anticipated possible disruptions to bus service, but it did not provide any further information.

The initial phase of the strike action began on Nov. 1 at 8 a.m., with operators not wearing their CMBC uniforms and maintenance workers not doing overtime.
