Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you’ve got till it’s gone? Well don’t let that be the case this weekend with a performance of Circle Game: Reimagining the Music of Joni Mitchell at Kay Meek Centre in West Vancouver tonight at 7:30 p.m. and tomorrow at 3 p.m. The enduring music and legacy of Joni’s career is re-imagined in this powerful musical theatre performance. Tickets: $19-$48

The annual Friends of the Library book sale at the Lynn Valley branch of North Vancouver District Public Library kicks off today and runs until Sunday, open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. Books, CDs, DVDs and other library items will be up for grabs, most on sale for $2 or less.  

Take a load off this weekend with a free presentation and session exploring mindfulness-based stress reduction tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Centre for Mindfulness Canada in North Vancouver. The event, offered by psychologist Kasim Al-Mashat, is part of Psychology Month. Event is free but registration is required.

The weather may be cold but the performance will be spicy hot as the Kasandra Flamenco Ensemble presents Solo Flamenco at Presentation House Theatre tomorrow at 8 p.m. The four-piece group presents Flamenco in its purest form, including a dancer, guitarist, singer and percussionist. Tickets: $20-$25

For those looking to escape the splendours of the North Shore this long weekend (crazy, we know), the Vancouver Aquarium is offering free admission for children under 12 on Monday – youth (accompanied by their guardians) are invited to meet a parrot and a penguin, pose for family pictures with Ollie the Otter or catch aquatic-themed puppet shows, and much more.
