The show must go on. Jon Bon Jovi's management announced this morning that the singer would perform a concert at Rogers Arena for ticket holders of the cancelled outdoor concert at Stanley Park.

Amid growing controversy and confusion surrounding the recent cancellation of Jon Bon Jovi’s outdoor concert at Stanley Park this weekend, Bon Jovi Tours Inc. has announced that the singer and his backing band the Kings of Suburbia will perform at Rogers Arena on Saturday, Aug. 22. According to the press release, the concert is only open to those who bought tickets to the cancelled Stanley Park show. Ticket holders are advised to bring their tickets with them to Rogers Arena and they will be assigned to a seating section according to the ticket level previously purchased. No additional tickets will be sold.

Following the announcement of the Stanley Park concert earlier this week, hints of a private show for select ticket holders and news that the concert’s promoter had filed for bankruptcy, many fans worried whether they would be refunded for the show and voiced their concerns online.

Today’s announcement of the Rogers Arena concert should alleviate those concerns, while Bon Jovi avoids what was shaping up to be a public relations disaster.

“Ever since we were forced to announce the cancellation of Stanley Park, Paper Rain Performances has perpetuated confusion and misinformation,” said Paul Korzilius of Bon Jovi Management in the press release. “Through it all, it has been Jon’s main concern that he find a way to make good on the promoter’s failed attempt to put on the show. Finally, the stage is set and we can confidently announce that all proper pieces are in place for a great show. Vancouver is a special city for Jon, who recorded three albums and has given countless performances here. The task of relocating could not have been possible without Rogers Arena’s support. We also commend our partners, Tourism Vancouver and Tickets Tonight for their quick, diligent work. As we said on Monday, Jon has always been willing, able and excited to perform on Saturday — now it’s real.”

Doors to the Aug. 22 show open at 6:30 p.m. with the performance slated for 8 p.m.
