Are ethical considerations high on your list of priorities when choosing a vacation destination?

CEOWorld Magazine has created a Travel Morality Index to help ethically-minded travellers select the most ethical destinations from around the world to visit.

The index uses research focused on six categories: human rights, animal welfare, gender equality, workers’ rights, global peace index and positive well-being feeling.

The goal of the index is simple: by praising countries that that have done an outstanding job in the fields of environmental protection, social welfare, human rights, and animal welfare, it will encourage others to do the same.

Germany placed first, with an overall score of 29 out of a possible 30, followed by Austria in second, with an overall score of 28. Iceland came in third with a score of 26. What’s more, Canada made the top ten, placing sixth overall.

CEOworld Magazine also notes that, “The lowest-ranking countries in the index include Yemen, the Central African Republic, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq and Tanzania.”
