Commercial Drive stabbing sends man to hospital

VPD's major crime unit helping with the investigation of Sunday morning incident

One man is still in hospital after a stabbing on Commercial Drive just after midnight on Sunday morning.

Vancouver Police Department media relations officer Const. Jason Doucette says police were called to an area at Commercial Drive and East 11th early on January 29.

There had been a fight among three to five men. One man was suffering from multiple stab wounds; another was also bleeding. A third man, believed to be involved, was arrested a short distance away.

The stabbing victim is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The second man was treated and is now in jail. The third man was taken to jail pending further investigation.

Detectives from the VPD's major crime unit have been called in to help with the investigation.
