Our miraculous reprieve from rain on Halloween night has given way to some serious downpour that is expected to come down steadily all day Thursday.

A rainfall warning has been issued for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley from Environment Canada, cautioning the region can expect heavy rain during the daytime and into the night.

Total rainfall accumulations of 50 to 80 mm is expected over this 24 hour period for northeast Vancouver, northwest Vancouver, Howe Sound and west Fraser Valley.

The Metro Vancouver region and coastal B.C. should also be aware that these rains could lead to flash floods and water pooling on roads, as well as the potential for localized flooding in low-lying areas and landslides on steep slopes.

While we might get some clearing Friday, the forecast for the next seven days shows we are looking to see lots and lots (and lots) more rain.
