Last week, the Vancouver weather forecast included a special weather alert that called for a chance of wet snow and risk of freezing rain. And while it got rather chilly in Metro Vancouver, it never snowed.
With that being said, other parts of the province are expected to see snowfall tonight. According to Environment Canada, an intense Pacific frontal system will spread snow on a B.C. highway. Further, the snow may be quite heavy at times on the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merrit.
The department expects that total snowfall amounts of 20 to 25 cm can be expected before the snow tapers off tonight when the frontal system departs the region.

Drivers are asked to adjust their driving with changing road conditions due to the snow. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly, which results in hazardous driving conditions.
If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
