'It's all a haze': Photographers capture evocative images of wildfire smoke blanketing Vancouver

The striking photos from B.C's haze filled days

Vancouverites finally said goodbye to the wildfire smoke smothering their lives and blocking their mountain views yesterday, but one good thing has come out of the experience.

People took advantage of the apocalyptic skies and managed to capture some striking images across B.C.

We are officially without an air quality advisory from Metro Vancouver, for now, after a record 11 days straight of warnings. The advisory does, however, remain in effect for the eastern Fraser Valley.

“While these fires continue to burn, changing weather conditions have the potential to bring wildfire smoke into the region again,” a Metro Vancouver news release states.

Fingers crossed the haze doesn't return...

If you have some photos you'd like to share message us on the Vancouver Courier Facebook page.

Here’s some of our favourite photos from the haze:

It’s all a haze. Cable-car connection between two majestic mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb. What might have been deep verdant views of evergreen trees looked like a leery wall of ash plumes from all the fires in British Columbia. Observed from space the billow of smoke is so strong that it gushes from west to east in a country as gigantic as Canada . . . . . #whistlerblackcomb #whistler #naturephotography #imagesofcanada #mountaineering #minimalism #素晴らしい #fa_minimal #natgeotravel #natgeo #경치 #_ipc #turklikeben_splash #hot_shotz #igpowerclub #hubs_united #hayatakarken #mountainview #горы #bcfires #bcfires2018 @wonderfuldestinations_ #noisemag #9vaga_naturemiracles9 #explorerfervor #cloudporn #minimalove #ig_minimalist #ig_minimalshots #unlimitedminimal

The setting sun these days is beautiful and deadly. Everyone is praying for rain.
