They say officers were dispatched and there was an exchange of gunfire, after which a man was found dead at the scene.

Police say no officers or other members of the public were injured.

RCMP said the Independent Investigation Office of B.C. had been notified and would determine whether there was any link between police actions and the man's death.

They added that because the matter is now under investigation by the IIO B.C., no further information will be released by police.
