Protesters rally in support of First Nations’ Trans Mountain pipeline appeal (PHOTOS)

Trans Mountain pipeline protesters rallied on the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery Monday, Dec. 16, as the Coldwater, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations begin court hearings at the Federal Court of Appeal.

Trans Mountain pipeline protesters rallied on the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery Monday, Dec. 16, as the Coldwater, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations begin court hearings at the Federal Court of Appeal. Speakers included local Indigenous leaders as well as representatives of Lummi Nation in Washington State. 

The rally was organized by Pull Together, a grassroots movement supported by RAVEN (Respecting Aboriginal Values and Environmental Needs) and Sierra Club BC to raise legal funds to support First Nations’ legal challenges.
