Rugby World Cup trophy visits Vancouver (PHOTOS)

The trophy is on a world tour ahead of this year's tournament in Japan

It was all about rugby at Hillcrest Park Wednesday as the World Cup of Rugby trophy touched down in Vancouver.

The trophy is on a world tour that includes 18 nations ahead of this year's tournament in Japan.

The top 20 national men’s teams have competed in the Rugby World Cup tournament every four years since its inception in 1987. Canada has qualified for the competition every year. It is the third largest sporting event in the world, behind the Olympics and the Soccer World Cup.

The Rugby World Cup trophy usually resides at the Rugby Hall of Fame in Rugby, England, the birthplace of the sport.
