“I heard someone won in South Delta, so I decided to check my ticket,” she said.

“I went and scanned it myself and it said, ‘It’s a winner’. Then the number 39 million came up.”

De Roma, a mother of three, first told her husband. She laughed at today’s press conference, “It’s his birthday.”

She purchased her quick pick at the Gateway Newsstand at Tsawwassen Mills.

She plans to buy a new house and travel. Her first destination will be Rome.
