If you’ve got a creative idea for what should be done at the former Emily Carr University campus on Granville Island, now is the time to share it.
The campus is being transformed into a new Arts and Innovation Hub. It will “house a mix of arts-focused and innovative organizations”, as well as restaurants and services.
As part of the process, Granville Island has opened its Call for Ideas submission process.
“Specialists in the arts, cultural and creative sectors have until September 30 to submit their ideas for the redevelopment for the former Emily Carr University north building,” says a press release. “The purpose is to identify what types of organizations, businesses and activities should be included in the Hub and gauge demand from prospective tenants. The findings will be used to further refine the vision for this building.”
If you need a better sense of the space and the possibilities that exist there, you can book a space on three upcoming guided tours: Thurs., Sept. 6, Wed., Sept. 12, and Thurs., Sept. 13. The tours from 1 to 2 :30 p.m. Advance registration is required at www.artsandinnovation.com, where you can also find out more about the project.
