One witness followed the vehicle and provided 911 dispatchers with updates that were relayed to responding officers.

A video posted to social media shows the vehicle driving in circles in the intersection at Main and Hastings. Police caught up with the driver a short time later on Main Street near National. Officers were able to box the suspect vehicle in to prevent the driver from taking off.

The lone occupant and driver of the Camry, Harpreet Gill, a 37-year-old Surrey man, has been charged with dangerous driving. Police anticipate additional charges related to impaired driving.

Gill remains in custody.
