Teen left with serious injuries in East Van collision

Vancouver police looking for dash-cam video after 15-year-old hit at East 12th and Kingsway

Vancouver police are looking dash-cam footage after a collision near East 12th Avenue and Kingsway Monday morning left a teen with serious injuries.

Just after 8 a.m., a 15-year-old was standing on the northeast corner of East 12th Avenue and Kingsway waiting to cross Kingsway. A work truck was heading north on Kingsway in the curb lane when a part of the truck struck the pedestrian, who was standing near the curb.

The teen was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with collision investigators.

Anyone who may have dash-cam footage and was driving in the area of East 12th Avenue and Kingsway Monday between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. is asked to contact investigators at 604-717-3012.
