Top 5 Vancouver Courier stories this week

March 6-13, 2015

1. A March 6 story by sports editor Megan Stewart about high-scoring Thompson Trojans player Harry Brar, named named MVP of the senior boys AAAA Lower Mainland championship this year, racked up the most points in the past week.

2. Part two of reporter Sandra Thomas’ feature on Downtown Eastside pet owners was, perhaps appropriately, our second most-read story online. It probably didn’t hurt to have a photo of a rat riding a dog to go with it.

3. It won’t do you much good now, but lots of people must have been looking for something to do last Friday night since our daily top five list came in at number three. But if you’re looking for something to do this Friday, try here.

4. Contributor Chris Bruntlett’s story about special bicycles that allow infirm seniors to be taken out for a spin was our fourth most-read story overall.

5. Last but far from least, Stewart’s tale of a young basketball coach diagnosed with cancer who is inspiring the Britannia Bruins to play their best was our fifth most popular online story.
