The Tour de Delta gets the wheels rolling on B.C. Superweek, a series of nine races over 10 days throughout the Lower Mainland.

With a total prize purse of more than $140,000, B.C. Superweek has established itself as one of the most prestigious professional cycling series in North America.

The series gets rolling this weekend with the three-race Tour de Delta, which includes the North Delta Criterium on Friday evening, the Ladner Criterium on Saturday evening and the White Spot | Delta Road Race on Sunday in Tsawwassen.

Riders get a day off on Monday before a grueling stretch of six races in six days begins on Tuesday, July 9 with the New West Grand Prix, the most recent addition to the cycling series.

That is followed by the Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix on Wednesday, July 10. One of the most historic cycling events in North America with crowds in excess of 20,000, the race boasts the highest one-day prize purse for a Canadian criterium.

The Giro di Burnaby, a criterium on the streets of Burnaby Heights, is scheduled for Thursday, July 11, while the Poco Grand Prix takes place Friday, July 12.

B.C. Superweek concludes with the Tour de White Rock, which includes the Choices Markets Criterium on Saturday, July 13 and the Westminster Savings Road Race on Sunday, July 14.
