UPDATED: Police asking for help finding convict who failed to return to Vancouver halfway house

Vancouver police are asking for the public help in finding a two-time federal offender who failed to return to his halfway house.

Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for Dale Alexander, 46. He was last seen leaving for work in the early morning of Aug. 7 near East Broadway and Commercial Drive.

Alexander is a two-time federal offender who has served a nine-year sentence for sexual assault causing bodily harm, kidnapping and uttering threats. He is currently on a 10-year long-term supervision order.

He is described as Metis, with a fair complexion, six-feet tall and weighing 190 pounds. He has a shaved head, blue eyes and scars on his forehead and right upper arm. He normally wears glasses.

Anyone who sees Dale Alexander is urged to call 9-1-1.

Police found and arrested Dale Alexander late Thursday afternoon.
