Vancouver police are asking the public for help locating a man wanted Canada-wide for failing to return to a Vancouver halfway house.

Daine Vonbillings, 58, was last seen leaving the downtown halfway house at 6 p.m. on Aug. 5. He was driving a pick-up truck. The truck was found later that day at Cypress Bowl with the back window smashed and Vonbillings failed to return to the halfway house by his midnight curfew.

Vonbillings is described as white, 6’3” tall and 186 pounds with facial hair, long grey hair often in a ponytail and blue eyes. He has numerous tattoos, including a butterfly and skull on his right hand, a unicorn and a heart on his right arm, and a black rose and flaming star on his left arm.

He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with a design or logo, light blue jeans, black shoes and a black jacket.

Vonbillings was on day parole for a second-degree murder he committed in the mid-1980s.

Anyone who sees him should call 9-1-1.

UPDATE

Vancouver police arrested Vonbillings Wednesday night on the west side of the city.
