Vancouver firefighters investigating ‘strange’ smell

Vancouver fire department’s hazardous materials team responded to a report of a “strange” smell coming from the 600-block of West Sixth Avenue on Tuesday.

Seven vehicles are at the scene and the team is investigating the source of the smell, which is currently unknown.

Capt. Jonathan Gormick, the department’s public information officer, told Vancouver Is Awesome that the hazardous materials team is currently investigating but there is no further information at this time.  However, he said that a “strong vapour” smell was reported early this afternoon.

The source of the smell is still under investigation
