Vancouver forecast calling for a risk of thunderstorms this afternoon

While the Vancouver weather forecast calls for sunshine all weekend, it also calls for a risk of thunderstorms throughout the day on Thursday, July 18.

Environment Canada is forecasting a mix of sun and cloud during the day on Thursday with increasing cloudiness during the day. Following this, the forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon and continuing into the night. Friday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 21°C with a low of 12°C at night. Saturday is expected to be bright and sunny with a high of 22°C.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to see bright sunshine and daily highs around 23°C. However, inland temperatures could reach daily highs of 26°C. Daily lows will drop between 13°C and 14°C overnight.

British Columbia saw an impressive 17 weather records broken across the province on June 13 due to a very strong ridge of high pressure.

The Vancouver area broke its previous record of 27.4°C set in 1999 with a toasty high of 29.1°C. Similarly, the White Rock Area set a new daily high of 30.9°C, which broke its previous record of 29.4°C set in 1932.
