Vancouver garbage, recycling pick up to resume next week

City crews were re-deployed this week to help clear snow

Don’t despair. If your garbage and recycling is starting to pile up, the City of Vancouver says regular collection will resume next week.

Collection of garbage, recycling and green bins was cancelled this week as the snow piled up and city workers were redeployed to help clear snow and ice from streets and sidewalks.

In a tweet Saturday morning, the City said garbage collection will resume starting Monday and green bin collection will resume the week of Jan. 27.

Due to all the cancellations, next week’s collections dates have changed in some areas.

Curious residents can enter their address here to find out the new collection dates.

In a notice on its website, Recycle BC, which handles recycling collection for the city, said regular recycling collection will also resume next week.
