Vancouver Police investigate Granville Street stabbing

Three people are in hospital with stab wounds after a fight broke out on Granville Street early Saturday morning.

Vancouver Police Department patrol officers came across the altercation between two groups on Granville Street, near Helmcken Street, at 3am.

When officers broke up the fight, involving men and women in their 20’s and 30’s, they discovered that three people had been stabbed.

They were transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth person was also taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been released.

Several arrests have been made and the investigation, led by the VPD's major crime section, is ongoing.

"Our investigators are working diligently to piece the evidence together and are hopeful that criminal charges will soon be laid,” Sergeant Jason Robillard says.
