An early morning stabbing on Hornby near Dunsmuir has left a 25-year-old man in hospital with life threatening injuries.

An early morning stabbing has left a 25-year-old man in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Just before 2 a.m. Saturday, two groups got into an altercation on Hornby Street near Dunsmuir. During the ensuing scuffle a man was stabbed and seriously injured. He remains in hospital in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

He is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, either Caucasian or Latin, and was wearing all black.

Investigators believe the incident was captured on at least one cell phone camera and are asking for any footage to be turned over to police.

Detectives are also asking for anyone with dash-cam footage, or who may have been driving in the area of Hornby and Dunsmuir street Saturday morning between 1:30 and 2 a.m. to come forward.
