Vancouver police are investigating after an elderly cyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run.

Vancouver police are investigating a hit-and-run Tuesday morning that sent an elderly cyclist to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The cyclist, a man in his 70s, was rising near Fourth Avenue and Collingwood Street shortly before 10 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop.

The man was taken to hospital and remains in serious condition.

According to a police press release, witness reports suggest a taxi may have been involved.

The department’s collision investigation unit is leading the investigation and has identified a suspect.
