Vancouver’s massive Italian Day festival takes over Commercial Drive on Sunday

From donuts to cannoli, pasta to gelato, there’ll be endless foods to sample as visitors make their way down the Drive

Commercial Drive will be transformed into a lively 14 block fiesta on the second week of June for the annual Italian Day festival.

Over 120 street participants, comprised of partners, vendors, and community organizations, will partake in the festivities. In addition, a whopping 300,000 attendees are expected to attend.

Now in its tenth year, the streets will be decorated with red, white and green balloons, and there will be an array of delectable foods and beverages to sample. Live music will play throughout the day, and there will be a number of patio areas to relax in during the celebration. From donuts to cannoli, pasta to gelato, there’ll be endless foods to sample as visitors make their way down the Drive.

Italian food
There will be plenty of Italian food to enjoy.

Guests may enjoy live opera, jazz, classical and pop/rock throughout the day. Italo-Canadian artists and international special guests will play on three main stages located in Grandview Park, 2nd Ave, as well as Piazza Moda on 3rd Avenue.

The Piazza Moda stage will also transform into a fashion runway throughout the day between musical performances. Guests may also enjoy a bocce Court, human foosball, food contests, children’s activity zones and more.

The festival is Vancouver’s largest cultural street festival, and each year gives away fabulous prizes in a raffle that total close to $10,000.
