Wear a zip tie for Canuck the crow

Shawn Bergman asks Canuck’s fans to join him in raising awareness about animal cruelty.

This morning, Shawn Bergman will be at Suquet Interiors at 1014 Homer Street to hand out orange zip ties.

He’s asking people to wear one on their baby finger to in support of Canuck the crow, who was deliberately whacked on the head by a linesman at a soccer game on March 26.

Bergman has 1,000 of the zip ties to give away to raise awareness about animal cruelty. The ties will be available at the store as well as at Canuck’s favourite spot, the block near East Hastings and Cassiar Street, on Saturday.

“If you can't get one of the orange zip ties just grab any zip tie and show your support

I've got mine,” he says on his Canuck and I Facebook page.

The SPCA and the Italian Canadian Sports Federation have launched separate investigations into the assault against Canuck, Vancouver’s most popular and well-known crow.

Canuck is being cared for by the Night Owl Bird Hospital.
