Owning a great fall coat is more than just keeping warm. A coat could also double as a statement piece. This season, camel coats are a must own on my list. It transitions away from the typical fall hues we’ve been accustomed to and adds a sense of luxury to a look. It’s simple enough that you can pair with basically anything from flats to heels. Because of its simplicity, this coat will be a classic in your closet.
Second in the running is a cashmere coat. A cool lapel will also add edge to the piece so be on the look out for that. Keep in mind that if you are shorter in height, you may have to spend some time finding a coat that is the right length for you. If you’re on the market for a long coat, be sure that the length of the coat sits just past your knees or it can look disproportioned.
Finally, for something different, try a sleeveless coat. This is a great layering piece that you can actually bring into spring. Go for a sturdy material and a bright color so it stands out.
