Transitioning to spring can mean several things including shorter hemlines, bright hues and getting fit. For many athletic apparel brands, workout clothes combine both utility and its ability to highlight style for everyday wear. For the last few seasons, designers have been integrating sporty looks into their collection on the runway and athletic apparel lines now offer a range of designs far beyond what was available in the past.

To celebrate being fit in style for spring, here are a few looks that will help lighten the load of working out.

GapFitThe GapFit Blackout Above: Technology Mesh Leggings, $69.95 from The Gap. Perfect for Barre classes, this unique black interlock fabric provides maximum coverage so you can bend and stretch with ease. The breathable jersey also pulls moisture away from skin to keep you dry.

Kate Hudson

Above: The Salar crop and Sylvia bra, $100 (USD) from Fabletics. For those who like to run, this is a great option. The not so mellow yellow color is great for adding a punch of color to your look. The compression top is also ideal for movement.

Eastwood cycle

Above: The Bow Down tank from Eastwood cycle. Spinning is one of my favourite workouts. Keep it light breathable with a tank top that say what’s really on your mind.

Under Armour

Above: Women’s studio printed leggings, $79.99 from Under Armour. The four way stretch in this legging improves mobility and maintains shape which is perfect for any Yoga class.

GapFit

Above: The Gapfit spring shorts, $39.95 from The Gap. For anyone who wants a workout on the lighter side, this look is all about maximizing utility and comfort.
