The 15-minute beauty routine

Beauty Routine

One thing I count on every morning is my beauty routine to get me out the door just in time for work. Perfecting my beauty routine to get the most out of the little time I have in the morning is something I continue to develop as I learn more about beauty products. There are two main non-negotiable rules for me: it has to be simple and deliver great results.

I’ve stuck to the same beauty routine for the past year or so (with the odd replacement of toner or eye liner here or there) and have come to terms that I will never be that girl who will wake up super early and spend hours getting ready. As summer nears, I’m also looking to switch up the type of products I use to ensure that my skin is protected. I needed the advice of an expert and was lucky enough to meet up with Elizabeth Lamont who is the Vice President of Marketing at La Prairie. I knew if anyone could help me put together an efficient and high performing beauty routine, it would be her.

I wanted to keep the elements of my beauty routine fairly consistent (BB cream, brightening cream, blush and eye-liner). As Elizabeth and I chatted away on everything on the market and what La Prairie had to offer, I realized that her bottom line was all about positioning your skin in the best way possible for the lifestyle and climate you’re in. It all starts on a cellular level and she recommended a few products for my beauty routine:

1. La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming Cream (NEW): This BB and CC cream protects skin and has an intuitive pigment to help adapt to different light sources so skin looks its best.

“This is a great all in one product I would recommend. It has antioxidants and blends evenly for light coverage.” -Elizabeth

2. La Priarie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush: Refracts light, a hint of shimmer and packed with antioxidants and Vitamin A, C and E. It also contains silica which absorb excess oil.

3. La Prairie Light Fantastic Concealing Brightening Eye Treatment : This is a light concealer and with brightening pigments perfect for everyday use.

“I use this throughout the day and if I need a touch up here and there. It’s compact which is always great.” -Elizabeth

4. La Prairie Cellular Power Infusion: Energizes, detoxify and renew. The package contains four vials which you activate one at a time to use daily in the morning or night. Completion of the program will take approximately 28 days.

“The cellular infusion program will jump start your skin for an entire season and give you the 4 week energy boost for skin cells. If you’re looking for a product that is effective and low maintenance, this is it.” -Elizabeth

A few products did survive from my previous beauty routine like the Kat Von D eyeliner and Sephora cream lip stain which I can’t live without.

So what did I find after trying these new products out? First, the cellular infusion package is well worth the investment. The application is used once a day for 28 years and you’re set for the season. When it comes to a time saver product with maximum effect, this one delivers. I was also impressed by the transforming cream. I’m a fan of “less is more” and this BB cream gave just the right amount of coverage and lasted all day. My skin actually looked smoother and brighter in about two days (long term results will take about 6-8 weeks of use) which was a pleasant bonus. I’ve integrated all of Elizabeth’s recommended products and I haven’t looked back since. All it took was 13 minutes of my day. The extra two minutes I have can now be better spent mauling over my shoe collection for what to wear that day which proves that once in awhile, you can have your cake and eat it too.
