Abortion stance shouldn't stop Donnelly

That any organization, be it media-related or otherwise, would suggest that Canucks anthem singer Mark Donnelly "should be cut loose for his public stand on abortion," is both puzzling and more than a little scary. Are corporations like the Canucks not permitted to hire and fire whom they choose? Are they advocating firing any individual who does not agree with the government in power or supposed prevailing public opinion? This kind of attitude might be expected from those supporting a totalitarian regime, not a parliamentary democracy.

The K&K journalist who wrote the abortion issue "most of us thought this was settled long ago" is perhaps not aware that laws in Canada are not really ever "settled." A Library of Parliament representative explained that, following specific procedures, any law can be amended.
