'Greenest City Action Team' doesn't hold water

Thank you for alerting us to our newest bureaucracy-the "Greenest City" plan. The pointlessness of its existence is proven by its value "in action." They say water conservation is a major objective, targeting a 33 per cent reduction. Yet when the park board considered dredging Stanley Park's Beaver Lake in January, no member of the Greenest City Action Team appeared to argue against the continued (and increased) use of city water gushing from large-diameter pipes to create this artificial "ecology." And when the aquarium's expansion was approved in April, they never questioned how much water they'd use.
