Keeps trucks off Clark Drive, we've suffered enough

The residents along Nanaimo Street want Clark Drive route re-opened. Bad Idea. I live on Clark Drive and have suffered for years with noise and exhaust from these container trucks. The lower volume has been heavenly.

The city should look at using Boundary Road as the only truck route. The east side of Boundary has long stretches of sound barriers. Clark Drive residents have suffered for years-it's time that we got a break. Nanaimo Street residents shouldn't have to suffer, either. In fact these huge smelly vehicles should be banned completely from residential areas. Not only do they pollute and make unwelcome noise, they are dangerous. Many of these truck drivers plow through intersections with blaring horns (more noise) because they can't stop. It's frightening to witness this practise daily. It's a wonder that these drivers think that this is acceptable. They endanger lives of everyone, including bicyclists and pedestrians.

It's an excellent time for the city to look at "greening" the whole process of delivering goods to the port. Surely, there is a simple solution that makes everyone happy. A rail system might be the answer.
