How to lose a guy

We’ve all made silly mistakes in relationships that lost a guy at one point or another. Most of us look back and wonder why we ever let our irrational selves out to play and vow to never be “that girl” again in a relationship. Relationship fears are a real thing and we all have certain things that trigger us to run for the door. Here are a few common ones to not do if you want a guy to stick around:

1.     Tell him to cut his friends out.

Even though your idea of a fun night out may be different from his, nobody likes to be deprived of having friends and a good support network to relax and have fun with.

2.     Show up where he’s at without telling him.

No one likes a party crasher or a potential stalker. Respect his space and his time.

3.     Be really high maintenance.

Everybody expects that relationships are going to take some work. However, if the relationship is more work than play, you may have someone running for the door before you even become official.

4.     You pretend to be sane but turn out to be crazy.

Everyone tries to show their best side early on the relationship but if you turn into a completely different person (in a bad way) overnight, it might be too much to handle early on in the relationship.

5.     Your life becomes all about him after the first date.

It’s nice to know that you’re on someone’s mind during the day. However, there’s no need to hang onto him like he’s the only good thing in your life.

6.     Comparing him to ever other relationship you had.

There’s nothing worse than a person who hangs onto the past and you having to live in it with them. Giving a little relationship history is okay but being compared to an ex can be frustrating for anyone.

7.     Attempt to friend his family members on Facebook after the first date.

Adding someone’s family members before you’ve met them is never okay especially after a first date.

8.     Keep tabs on him like breaking into his email or social media.

Anyone would feel violated and distrusted if their partner spies on them by breaking into their account. It’s the kind of crazy behavior that guys usually won’t (nor should they) put up with.

9.     Desperation.

This includes being someone’s doormat or calling incessantly when they don’t call you back.

10.  Make him feel insecure about himself by telling him how he should look.

A little self-improvement is always good but pointing out all the things someone should change can be extremely hurtful and rude.
