RCMP is still asking for the public’s assistance in locating 61-year-old Monica Winter – and her friends have joined the effort to produce tips in the woman’s disappearance.

Winter was reported missing to police on Feb. 10 after failing to show up for work.

Burnaby RCMP located Winter’s vehicle—a blue Toyota Corolla—near the Fraser River Foreshore Park on Tillicum Street and Fraser Park Drive.

One of Winter’s friends contacted the Burnaby NOW to say that a group of friends has been putting up posters and speaking with people in the Burnaby neighbourhood where her vehicle went missing. The group has also been sending out messages on social media and will be searching the park on Monday.

“We have been postering a picture of Monica and her beloved Chloe at Burnaby Foreshore Park, as well as out at UBC and around her office,” said her friend Linda, who didn’t want her last name used. “On Monday at 3 p.m., there will be group of people dressed in orange that will be meeting to walk through the park and areas adjacent if anyone would want to help.

“We are very frustrated with the lack of info."
