Mark your calendars everyone, shoe designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal will be in Vancouver on Friday March 28th at The Bay on Granville Street. Charlotte Dellal brings old Hollywood glam with a sense of humor. This London based designer has had huge success in the fashion market where she believes the higher the heel, the better. Surprisingly, it was her flats that caught my attention to her work a few years back. Her designs have also graced the Oscar red carpets and The Golden Globe to name a few.
You can see Dellal’s sense of humor within her collection with the use of bright colors, prints and fun twists to classic designs. My favorite was her zodiac flats last season that captured the essence of elegance. Dellal who is 32 years old also means business when it comes to designing heels. Her five and a half inch heels also has a two-inch platform to boot with it (makes it a little easier to balance).

Dellal's brand Charlotte Olympia is now carried in world-renowned retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods and Neiman Marcus. She has also been covered by Vogue was named the designer “having blazed the return of a more dressed up look” in 2010. Dellal even got married in leopard print pumps and a tulle dress proving that a twist on traditional can sometimes be just what a person needs.
If you venture onto Dellal’s website, her collection boast a widespread collection of bridal, children, women and men’s shoes. There’s no doubt that her appearance at The Bay will be anything less than interesting. The Bay is anticipating a large turnout and has made the decision to open it to the public. The attendees will have an opportunity to meet the designer and to also get their very own Charlotte Olympia shoe signed. The Bay has also signed exclusive rights to carry the brand in Vancouver.

If you’re thinking about purchasing a pair, here are some things to consider:
-Try them on especially if you’re thinking about purchasing heels. Since some of them are five and a half inches with a two-inch platform, it may not be the easiest shoe to tackle if you’re a heel amateur.
-These pretty Charlotte Olympia soles are around $795 USD for their flats. Because I live in flats, these will be an investment piece that I will get lots of use out of.
