Sports Hall of Famer Boyd Bayne got tricked on Halloween and his free-wheeling treat is still missing.

Bayne, best known in the community for his 20 years as a coach of champions at the Spruce Capital Boxing Club, got his truck stolen Oct. 31 and the extra large wheelchair that was in the back of the truck is what he's missing now and he can't afford to replace it.

The truck was recovered the next day, but the canopy and wheelchair were taken.

"The wheelchair is so important to me because it helps me with my daily function," said Bayne. "So now I have no way to get around. There's not many of these wheelchairs around and unless you're a big person like myself, you wouldn't need it."

The wheelchair is silver and the seat is blue.

"It's very devastating to me," said Bayne, who can use his walker to get from his chair in the living room to the bathroom but can't go much further than that under his own steam. "It's really sucked the life right out of me. I have enough problems just sitting here in my chair all day long. Without my wheelchair I can't really do anything but sit here. The wheelchair that I need is worth $3,500 because of my weight and my house insurance wants $1,000 for the deductible and I don't have it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do."

Bayne is asking for the culprits to return the chair or if someone knows of its whereabouts to contact the RCMP.
