Demolition at the prominent Broadway Corridor intersection of Cambie and West Broadway is officially underway.

The trio of buildings at the southwest corner of the intersection have been vacant for months in preparation of redevelopment. Demolition on one of the buildings occurred last week, with the remaining two to follow.

The buildings were once home to a number of restaurants, including Original Joe’s, La Taqueria and Sushi Bang.

The site at 502 West Broadway – located across the street from the Canada Line SkyTrain Broadway – City Hall Station – is slated to welcome a seven-storey commercial building.

Pacific Crown Management Company Ltd. proposed the project in 2017 before the Broadway Corridor Plan was formally announced. Plans for the development include retail, restaurant and office space. The building will have a total floor area of 61,400 square feet and a maximum height of 93 feet.
