Oval hosting Canada Cup Fencing this weekend

The 2019 Canada Cup Fencing competition gets underway tomorrow and wraps up Sunday at the Richmond Olympic Oval. Nearly 400 athletes will be competing with free admission.

The 2019 Fencing Canada Cup is set to take place at the Richmond Olympic Oval this weekend..

Over 385 fencers, aged 12 to over 70, will take part, along with their coaches and family members in support. 

In addition, some of Canada’s Olympians and top Senior National Team athletes will also be showcased. Athletes will be competing in different age categories in epee, foil and sabre and the event will include team competition in the junior age category.

The Canada Cup performances from the junior and cadet athletes are important for their selection for the 2019 Junior and Cadet World Championships and will be some great matches to view.

The competition gets underway Friday and wraps up Sunday.

Attendance is free for spectators.
