jail hands

A prolific break-in artist who police pointed to as a suspect in up to a dozen thefts from businesses around the Lower Mainland will be sentenced in January after pleading guilty to nine charges in North Vancouver provincial court.

Burnaby resident Gordon Vincent Gladstone, 43, has been ordered by a judge to remain in jail until his sentencing wraps up in 2020.

Gladstone is accused of going on a three-month crime spree across Metro Vancouver between September 2018 and January 2019.

Gladstone targeted small businesses that were closed for the night, ranging from a bike shop in North Vancouver to a vape shop in Delta, butcher shop in Surrey, fitness centres and even a presentation house for a development in North Vancouver, according to court documents.

He was caught in the act earlier this year by North Vancouver RCMP allegedly in the process of pulling off his 12th burglary, according to Sgt. Peter DeVries of the North Vancouver RCMP.

Gladstone was charged in March of this year and entered guilty pleas to nine of the break-ins at the end of August.

He is being held in custody until his next sentencing date of January 22, 2020.
