Here in Vancouver we’re blessed with an abundance of restaurant options. Really, pick any country and there’s a very strong chance you’ll find an establishment where you can dine on its fare. And these are not just so-so eateries. You can actually find top-notch Japanese, Greek, Italian, Ethiopian, Mexican, Thai, Malaysian and Sri-Lankan, among many other types of cuisine, in Vancouver.

What’s more, Vancouver is located in proximity to many local farms and purveyors of local food stuffs, so these restaurants also often showcase the world’s cuisine using ingredients from the area.

Oh, and don’t forget, the city is just a few hours’ drive from one of the country’s best wine spots: Many local restaurants feature Okanagan wines on their menus.

With so many options, though, it can be hard to decide where to dine. Depending on what the occasion is, there are a number of things to take into account when choosing a restaurant such as ambiance, price point, noise levels and whether the atmosphere/food is casual versus high-end.

This why The Vancouver Courier has created its Vancouver International Dining Stars directory. From pizza and pasta, to Russian to vegetarian and Mediterranean cuisine, we’ve curated a list of some of our favourite ethnic eateries in the city.

Check it out and we challenge your mouth not to water!
