For those looking to attend a Pride parade or festival this summer, there are certainly many to consider. In Canada, Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto are the biggest, and there are countless smaller and emerging festivals from Coast to Coast. TD Bank Group currently sponsors 42 Pride celebrations across North America, but the ongoing and dedicated support of the LGBT community doesn't end with the festivals and continues 365 days a year.

"Most people are aware that TD is a proud supporter of Pride, including a long-term partnership with the Vancouver Pride Society," said Grant Minish, the Regional Manager for LGBT Business Development in Vancouver, a new role created in 2014. "What people might not know is that we support more than 100 LGBTQ organizations and initiatives across North America through funding, partnerships and employee volunteerism."

For the last 12 years, a TD float has joined the colourful Vancouver Pride parade, however things scaled up dramatically in 2010 when TD became its presenting sponsor. TD recently renewed its commitment for another three years in 2016, so you'll be seeing green at the festival for years to come.

“We're always excited to partner with the LGBT community whether it’s a celebration or an organization that's important to our customers and employees," said Minish. “We recognize the importance of sustainable and dependable funding for the community, especially for events and causes that bring the community together.”

TD supports a number of local organizations that serve the LGBT community including Out in Schools, QMUNITY, the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, a Loving Spoonful, Fillmore Family Foundation and Friends & Company. The support extends beyond donations and sponsorship, through direct involvement, volunteerism and engagement.

"It's not about being 'gay for a day,'" said Minish. "It's about always being there for the community in good times and bad, not just once a year when there's a big celebration."
